Our new recipe blog

Okay everybody...please help me figure everything out. We need to be able to print each recipe seperately. I have seen other blogs where you can do this. Please let me know if you know how otherwise I will keep searching. Start posting all your great recipes. Please label your post as to what kind of recipe it is so that they can be organized easily and searched for quickly. I am excited. Ann helped with the title but if you come up with a better one neither of us would feel bad. Let's get posting!!!

  2. Tortuga == took me awhile to figure that one out! This is going to be great fun. Brenda, you need to list your recipe for the chicken - spinach omelet and others that you fixed for Dad that was so good.

Sue Nelson’s chocolate cake (she is Aunt Roma’s daughter)

    • Just so you know, this is an eggless cake
    • It has to be stirred with a spoon – a beater will beat out the rising action

Sift together: (I actually didn’t – just put it all in a bowl – but I did stir it together)
    • 3 Cps flour
    • 2 Cps sugar
    • 2 tsp soda
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 4 Tbsp cocoa rounded
    Add
    • 2 Tsp vanilla
    • 1 Cp salad oil
    • 2 Cp really warm water
    • Mix the above together (into the flour) with a spoon
    • Then gently stir in 1 TBSP vinegar STIR WITH A SPOON – don’t be too vigorous – will deflate the soda and vinegar action
    Bake 350’ 40 – 45 min.

    Frosting
Melt in pan on low till melted
    • 2 Tbsp butter
    • 2 Tbsp dark Karo syrup (I just use regular)
    Mix in bowl
    • 2 Cp Sugar
    • 3 Tbsp Cocoa
    • 1 Cp half & half OR Evaporated Milk OR Whipping Cream
    • Dash of Salt
When Karo comes to boil, pour other mixture into the middle DON’T TOUCH! Cook between med and med-hi to SOFT, SOFT ball stage (when a little is put in a cup of cold water, it will just barely start to hang together to form a ball). Pour immediately onto cake that has had holes punched all over in it. When cooled, spread whipped cream all over the top just before serving.

  3. GREAT YOGART – Ed Burdick

½ gallon milk can add powdered milk (1 cup)

Heat to where it bubbles around the edge

Cool to 120 ( like breaddough warm water)

Add yogart – ¼ cp yogart

Add vanilla or honey or just leave plain

Put into a thermos or micro wave (not on warm) would kill microbs
Or can place in bowl with lid and put in the microwave – don’t turn it on though
